CHAPTER 2  >  CASE STUDIES
Here you find suggestions for case studies. Cases are relatively complex real-life applications that can serve to define the physics to be learned in this chapter.

Choose from…
The Main Case deals with energy storage in solar electricity systems (charging capacitors with photovotaic panels). Photovoltaics is becoming more and more important as a method of renewable energy generation requiring (local) means of energy stroage. Models of PV panels lead to an interesting nonlinear problem.
Main Case
There are many examples of the physics and engineering of dynamical electrical systems. Detailed models of super-capacitors, the use of supercapacitors and batteries in transport systems, the use of super-capacitors as battery support in electronics, etc. can be used as complex cases to learn about electrical systems and processes. An interesting example of the use of analogical reasoning is the electrical modeling of fluid systems (such as the blood flow system).
